WHY DO REALTORS CHARGE SUCH A LARGE FEE
In
a traditional office the listing
broker normally sets a minimum sales commission. This sales commission is normally
split equally between the Realtor that sells the home and the Listing Agent.
Being a Realtor is costly. There are fees for joining the National
Association of Realtors, fees to join the MLS, Error and Omissions Insurance
fees, lockbox ekey fees, in addition to the cost of state mandated education.
All these fees occur before a agent even lists of sells a house. Upon listing a
house most good agents will then market the house. Marketing may involve signs,
internet activity, virtual tours, printed brochures, print advertising etc. |
